Temporary supplies

Temporary power supplies for schools

Temporary power is a speciality of ours, and schools are where we do most of it — nationwide. Refurbishments, extensions, modular classrooms, DNO changeovers and emergency loss of supply. We design it, install it, maintain it while it's in, and strip it out cleanly at the end.

A school can't lose its supply mid-term

Temporary power in a school is not the same job as temporary power on a building site. There are children on the other side of the hoarding, a kitchen that has to serve lunch, and a hall that might be an exam room in three weeks. The installation has to be safe against people who will lean on it, and reliable against a timetable that can't slip.

We survey early, price the whole thing including the strip-out, and programme the install into the days the school actually has — usually a half-term or the summer holidays. Long-lead items get ordered against that date rather than against a hopeful one.

What we supply

  • Temporary builders supplies and full site setups
  • Generator hook-ups, changeover panels and load banks
  • Modular and temporary classroom supplies
  • Hall, kitchen and exam-room power
  • 63A and 125A distribution, festoon and task lighting
  • Emergency response to loss of supply
  • Weekly inspections and RCD test records
  • Decommissioning, reinstatement and making good

Priced to the strip-out. Most school works land in half-terms and the summer holidays, so we survey early, pre-order long-lead items and programme the install to the days you actually have. Decommissioning and making good is in the original quote.

Detail

Why estates teams use us

  • Planned to the academic calendar

Half-terms and summer holidays are the windows that exist, so that's what we programme to. Surveys happen months ahead, not weeks.

  • DBS-checked engineers

Anyone we put on a school site is DBS checked. Safeguarding paperwork is ready before we arrive.

  • Maintained while it's in

Temporary doesn't mean forgotten. Weekly inspections and RCD tests are recorded and handed over, which is what your insurer will ask for.

  • Stripped out and made good

The removal is priced with the install, so there's no surprise invoice at the end of the project.

Common questions

Before you call

How quickly can you respond to a loss of supply?

Call us. Emergency temporary supplies are something we do regularly and we will tell you honestly on the phone how fast we can be there.

Are your engineers DBS checked?

Yes, for any work on a school site.

Do you handle the generator as well?

We install and connect the hook-up, changeover panel and distribution. We can arrange generator hire or connect to one you've already sourced.

Got a site that needs power?

Send the basics and we'll come back the same working day. For loss of supply, call instead.
